One can tell whether a person is living with a disability or not. However, most people cannot comprehensively differentiate between the different types of disabilities. Then, what is a disability? Are there different kinds of disabilities? According to intellectual disability news, a disability is something that limits you from doing anything that a normal person can do. There are different types of disabilities. Some are physical with others being mental.
Some people are born with disabilities whereas others acquire them later in life. This shows that anyone can suffer from disabilities at some point in life. For instance, one can suffer from a physical injury that leads to impairments in moving their body parts, seeing, hearing or even walking. Persons with smaller issues like poor vision are considered to have a disability.
A person is said to have mental problems when they have difficulties communicating with other people or when they are unable to conduct themselves in a proper manner. Besides, mental disability can also affect moods, mental capacity, and their feelings. As such, if at all you are unable to think and act in a rational manner, you may have a mental disability. For instance, persons suffering from dyslexia have a hard time reasoning than normal human beings. By virtues that one cannot think as most people can, dyslexia makes them disabled.
Someone is said to have this disability when they are not able to see things clearly or not seeing at all. As such, anyone that uses glasses or contacts to make their vision clear is considered to be disabled. Some people are born with eye problems while others develop them as they get old. You can claim for disability even when the inability to see clearly develops over time.
This form of disability is common to people that find it difficult to listen. As such, whether you are partially or fully deaf, you have a disability. Like with vision, it is not the degree that makes it a disability but the impairment.
