Our new honney's arrives soon!
I cannot wait!! take a look!:
On Friday, September 7th, both Polaris and Ski-Doo revealed their race sleds for the upcoming racing season to the media and on September 8th to the public. Both companies have something new to talk about and both expect an excellent season.
Polaris revealed their new 600 IQ Racer. The ‘08 keeps the familiar red and black color scheme and Dragon Head graphics as well as the familiar racer rider position, though some changes were made to accommodate the change in WPSA rules. The WPSA is eliminating the 440 stock classes, making the 600 stock class the base class for pro racers, and they are increasing race finals from about 18 minutes to 25 minutes. The new IQ Racer includes an all-new 600 motor for this class. While Polaris wouldn’t talk horsepower numbers, they did tell us that the motor puts out more ponies than the 600 motor found in the new RR. The new Liberty 600 race motor is not based on the Liberty 600 H.O. It’s also not a bored and stroked 440. We didn’t get specifics on the engine, but it does spec out at 599cc with 40mm Mikunis and uses 92 octane pre-mix fuel. The engine also benefits from new cooling which reroutes the liquid for more efficient cooling without adding weight to the sled. Another significant change is in the steering. The IQ Racers has an EZ Steer System developed to give the racer a lighter, quicker steering response with less effort. The rider should be less fatigued and should feel reduced jolts through the handlebars when coming off a jump. Lastly, the new IQ Racer has a new track lug pattern specifically designed for better holeshots.
Polaris is confident that the 2008 600 IQ Race Sled is the most durable Polaris has ever offered its racers. Check out the specs here and for more information, go to www.polarisind.com.
